A) Don't crosspost. I'm going to probably waste my time and everybody
else's here because you probably got an answer on another mailing list.
I didn't see one here, so that's why I'm answering at all.
B) Did you configure and start MySQL? Have you used a database before?
They require some amount of configuration and administration before
they work properly. Check the docs at www.mysql.com for more details.
