Hi,

I use APF on my Linux VPS. APF is an SPI firewall, it will block a
port if it sees too many packets that match its definitions of DDoS
attacks. I recently had this feature block port 25 on my VPS. Is
there a way to tell APF to not block port 25 ever or maybe block it
for only 5 to 10 minutes at most? It seems to clear this blocked
condition I have to flush APF and iptables. Does anyone know how I
can maybe do this with a shell script and crontab? Maybe probe port
25 every 15 minutes and if no response flush APF and iptables? I'm
not sure how I would test port 25 in a shell script. Or maybe this is
not a good idea.

Sincerely,
Mike
