Do you mean a palm.com palm pilot type device?
In that case you need:

        pilot-xfer -i palm-file

You want /dev/pilot set up as you palm pilot's serial connection
(or set $PILOTPORT or use the -p option, see "man pilot-xfer").

And you need to press the hot-sync button before running the command.

The package containing "pilot-xfer" is called "pilot-link".
