Hi All I have installed a new SUSE 10 server and tried to connect a Redhat 8 client using NIS and NFS. All are working fine while starting, it is starting NFS service and then NIS service. NFS volume gets mounted without any problem, but I am not able to login with the NIS user account. What I found is UID GID scheme for both versions of linux are different. Now I am stuck here and wanted to know how to proceed about it. Any ideas please????? If I login as root in client system and try su <nis user> it actually indicates the following bash-2.05b$ Why is it so? Thanks for any solution or references in advance. Usha
