I am new to the board. Fed up with Windows and thinking about Linux.
However, before I make the commitment I want to see what it looks like.

I downloaded KNOPPIX, versions 4.0.2 and 5.0.1, burned the CD, then
set back to watch the magic.

Both versions looked like they tried to start up, but gave me a media
error, then loaded Windows.

I did change my BIOS to boot from the CD. I have a Toshiba Satellite
Pro 6100 with a Windows XP Pro OS.

I understand I should be able to operate from the CD since this is
a "live CD" version.

I would appreciate any advice.

Thanks.
