Hi,

I use Fedora Core 5, it's easy to install, more or less self configuring
and comes with most of the basic applications such as word processor,
spreadsheet (both Microsoft compatible) and web browser built in, and the
default graphical user interface (GNome) is very similar to Windows.

There are Linux equivalents to just about all Windows applications, but
Windows programs will NOT run on any Linux o/s. However there is a Windows
emulator called WINE that will run Windows applications on Linux, I have
personally used WINE to run some very complex business applications.

Hope this helps

Thanks

Andy.
