Hi Bruce,

When I set up my webserver I looked at Apache but honestly it was a
little too intimidating and so I looked for something a bit more user
friendly. The application I found that works well for me and has a very
simple setup is called "Xerver". Its java based and so is OS
independant. As long as you have Java installed it will run. It has a
browser interface for setup and you can also setup FTP access. I just
work on my files directly instead of messing with any sort of remote
access - its just faster and simpler that way.

There are alot of webserver tutorials on the net - just google "set up
your own web server" and a number of hits come up. There used to be a
really good one at dslwebserver.com but the domain is no longer active.
Maybe you can locate a cached version of it.
