If you have a reasonable ability to learn, you should be able to learn
Linux without much difficulty. I mean you should be able to learn the
basics. You can spend a lifetime learning Linux.
As for books, don't let the pejorative sound of the title "Linux for
Dummies" put you off. I use the Dummies books for learning just about
everything as they don't assume a huge knowledge of the subject to get
started. They do assume you know how to set up your computer BIOS to
boot from a CD. If you don't know that, ask a friend. "Linux for
Dummies" has seven different distros included from which to choose.
