Hi guys n gals,
I would like to know if it is possible for me to configure my suse
system, to get access to the lan network including the internet
since i have the root privileges. Also i would like to know:
1. How to configure Samba for the network access to other window
brethren on the lan.
2. How to configure the internet....(Also is it possible to use the
same ip address as my host win xp so that i dont create an ip
conflict on the lan.)
3. Do i have any options to open my desktop in gnome environment in
suse.If so where do i get into it. I ask this because in FC5 which i
use in home, has an option at the login called "Session" through
which i can choose the environment of my desktop when i log
in..........KDE or Gnome.
4. I would appreciate if anyone could sent me a very good link on an
online tutorial to start learning the basics of shell scripting -
Easy to understand is the bottom line.........;)
Since i am using suse for my personal RnD purposes at office the
systems guys are not showing interest to solve my issues on time.
Although i am enjoying the hassles and the RnD goin on, the prime
issues to most of the problem seems to have been with getting access
to the suse CD's which are with the dept.To make the matters worse
my cd drive is not enabled.Evertime some software has to be loaded
like the developer tools and the likes i have to talk to these guys
to get the cd's.
Anything on these will be highly appreciated..........
