in suse you wont find the "service" command as in redhat, but there is a
servervice equivalent command in suse, say you wana start/restart network, then
#rcnetwork start|restart|stop|status
i.e simply put "rc" before the service name, e.g to start bind/named
#rcnamed start

are you su'd to root? In a number of distros, you can't deal with

services unless you're "root". That's the exact message that you would

get as a regular user trying to restart a service.
