Pardon me for 'top-posting' but I'm not really replying to the below,
more commenting on Xandros in general. That Xandros does (or should)
have "better" support for Windows is no surprise, given that they are
one of the developer communities that were scared enough of M$
threatened patent litigation that they went and cut a deal with the
Devil Gates. As charmingly depicted in this webcomic:
http://www.bunnydogproductions.com/node/52

Linspire is another, as I recall.

Step one of "embrace, enhance, eradicate" complete. If Xandros
doesn't have superb Windows support, they submitted in vain and are
getting shafted in the bargain. No surprises if so, given M$'s track
record.

Not that I've EVER had any problem interacting with my laptop's
WinXP/NTFS partition from within ANY distro with a kernel more recent
than 2.6.21! And Samba is Samba in pretty much ANY distro as well,
for Windows Networking. You don't need Xandros or Linspire
specifically for that.

Unless you want to run Windows programs, that's the province of the
WINE emulator, rather than the distribution itself.
