Now I need some advices.
- which wireless? should I throw the card. or different linux is a
solution. ( maybe piece of cake with newest Debian release)
**I've found that the wireless support on different linux distros tends to be
pretty much the same, all using the same generic wireless drivers. as long as
your linux kernel is recent, you should be alright. I think youre going in the
right direction with a recent version of debian. The easiest way to get
wireless working is to check to see which cards are supported by the version of
linux youre planning to install and then go buy one. *shrugs*
-is there any easy to use remote admin desktop solution which accept
me to reach from windows platform to Linux ?
**Yep. RealVNC or TightVNC are both multi platform and easy to set up and
install. one isnt free, one is. check them both out tho.
- which desktop, which web, admin tools? Or should I forget desktop
desktop, visual admin and go for old style Telnet? I want minimal
configuration. so I need advice about package content.
**If you want minimal configuration, then really you should be looking at just
going with the flow and most distros will install kde as default. if you have a
choice, go for something less bulky but NOT user unfriendly. XFCE is a good
choice in this area.
As for server software, the easiest to set up has to be LAMPP from
www.apachefriends.org. It's free and the setup is documented and mainly self
automated. it's a walk in the park really.
If you DO have problems with XFCE altho im sure you won't you can try fluxbox
which was one of my faves for a while. also, remember that LAMPP will run quite
happily without a window manager at all.
