I second this. Fedora is not for Newbies. It can be hard to configure and it does not have as many applications in its repositories. This means that may have to compile some applications from source code or translate them using alien. You can run into lots of dependency problems with Fedora, unless you know what you aredoing.

Fedora really isn't a distro for someone who just wants things to work. It tends to break frequently. Around November, for example, all versions broke sound with various updates. It's still not really working properly, and it's not helped when the developers close the bugs saying, no, no it's a configuration issue.
