It would have been kinder for the creator to have explained to all
that any attempt to download either the student or the instructors
Ubuntu 7.10 manual in pdf form had a hidden issue. ITS HUGE!!!
Warning to all, each of the two pdfs are over 74MB, YES THAT'S SEVENTY
FOUR MEGABYTES and it is going to take TIME and EFFORT to download it.
Those who have slow connections, or horrors - a dialup connection,
should keep the pdf file sizes in mind. Here are some solutions. The
instructor manual overlays the student manual; so, go for that one
first and perhaps only. Use a download manager which can "resume"
from the point of download crash to save having to start from the
beginning every time. Visit a friend who has a solid broadband
connection and a CD burner. Ask the creator to offer a sliced up
version with perhaps each of the 11 chapters made into a separate
*.pdf file. Hope this helps those having problems with accessing this
wonderful training manual for Ubuntu 7.10 Linux operating system.
