I am trying to install the new version of ubuntu over my old
version 6.xxxxx and it won't work.... I have tried a regular install
and the oem install. In both I get to a point where I have to
"specify a partition for the root file system(mount point"/")." But
nowhere can I find anyplace to do so.

In looking at add and remove, I saw many things to encourage me to
keep trying, which I am doing.

Looked at gparted and found no solution. I just can't get past
specifying a root or file system step mount point or whatever.
