Linux boots the BIOS first, then in order: MBR, Lilo or Grub bootloader,
kernel, init, run levels.
You can do a Google search and come up with any number of more precise
descriptions of what happens in each step.
What is Linux 4.0? Linux is really the kernel which is at version 2.6xx. Do you
mean Redhat or some other distribution? This is not Linux but a variety of
Linux.To think of Linux as merely one thing out of hundreds of variations is to
sell it short.
