Greetings Linux Users,
Is it possible to run a GUI such as GNOME or KDE on a remote computer?
My application specifically involves a remote dedicated server
running Fedora 8 where my company's web sites are hosted. I am a
Linux noob stumbling around with the CLI. It would be most
facilitating if I could work with Fedora on our dedicated server via
a GUI to accomplish routine tasks like installing PHP extensions,
updating modules and so forth.
However, I am unclear on the feasibility of using a GUI on a remote
system in lieu of the CLI through PuTTY or Telnet.
So my most general question is whether it is possible to operate a
remote Linux sustem via a GUI in this manner?
Assuming it is, any suggestions as to appropos sources of
documentation I can reference for further details and explanations
regarding implementation requirements specifics would be most
appreciated.
