It is not likely a problem with the wireless, but that may be a problem later on. It is most likely a video problem. I am not familiar with your mini-note. I am writing this on a eeepc with Ubuntu 8.04 installed.
Many problems with Ubuntu can be straightened out by using the alternative CD. It allows you to see what is happening and offers a more hands on approach. This way you can see where the system is stalling rather than just getting a white screen for your trouble. Then you can try to install using a different parameter. I would try using a different resolution or video driver such as vga. Once it boots you can try changing the driver and see what happens. My main computer is an HP and they use lots of proprietary drivers and equipment and Ubuntu is not proprietary friendly until a few months pass and they catch up. I would also search for how to install Ubuntu on your system and see how someone else did it. Roy Linux: Fast, friendly, flexible and .... free!
