It is connected to the router just as a computer would and the printer attaches to the print server via usb. It cost me under $30 and it includes wireless, usb and ethernet connectivity. I assigned a static IP address to it (192.168.2.15, for example) and then when setting up the printer from any OS I choose network printer and point the OS to the static IP. It detects and connects. It is simple and it works perfectly. The advantage is that it can print even when the other computers are off or re-booting. In your setup, if someone re-boots Vista while you are printing it won't print. Just something to consider. > > Roy Roy, I am wondering what brand of print server you have and where you got it. I am having a problem printing from my laptop over the wired lan to my Windows Xp machinge. Your solution sounds good to me.
