Did you consider the Open Office Suite of programs which includes a word processor, a spreadsheet, a drawing program and a database program, sorry but I don't remember if it is a flat file or relational -- It will work in either Linux/Ubuntu(my Choice) or Windows. It is an Open Source replacement for Windows Office Suite. Hope this Helps
