Has anyone else had problems with getting their wireless to work in Debian (Etch)? I have an Atheros card and have been trying to get it to work with the Madwifi drivers.
I've attempted using the following guide to help me: http://madwifi-project.org/wiki/UserDocs/FirstTimeHowTo However, I have always had to stop when I get to the point: "Now, if you type iwconfig, you should see a list like the following:" Because, neither the wifi0, nor the ath0 lines show up, for me. Could any of this possibly have anything to do with the fact that when I originally installed Debian, that I chose not to configure networking until later? I never did figure out how to install that later. For internet access, I simply use the ADSL/PPPOE configuration program. I've had no need, as of yet, to network more than one computer together. However, I'd really like to disconnect this ethernet cable from this computer so I can start using my wireless router. Any suggestions? Thanks. ------------------------------------ To unsubscribe from this list, please email [email protected] & you will be removed.Yahoo!
