Hey a US Robotics external modem you say? They're the best! I still have mine. It was like 15 years ago but this is what I can recall. First off establish a connection manually with a terminal emulator just so you know exactly how to make the connection. You'll need a program like minicom or kermit. You just have to be observant during the process so you know how the connection is made. Then you need to write a script to automatically get your connection running. This is what I used back then: http://linux.maruhn.com/sec/pppsetup.html Good luck and keep at it you'll get it. These might help too: http://tldp.org/HOWTO/ISP-Hookup-HOWTO.html http://tldp.org/HOWTO/Modem-HOWTO.html http://tldp.org/HOWTO/PPP-HOWTO/ http://tldp.org/HOWTO/Serial-HOWTO.html Paul ------------------------------------ To unsubscribe from this list, please email linux_newbies-unsubscr...@yahoogroups.com & you will be removed.Yahoo!
