The trouble is, that it's like that possibly apocryphal statement, when they came for the Catholics, I did nothing because I wasn't a Catholic, blah blah, and when they came for me, there was no one left.
The way they tie the whole file sharing thing in with terrorism is also pretty frightening, pulling down some sites, some of which were apparently quite legit, making some obscure connection with terrorism--no warning, etc. I don't want to go on a political rant, tempting though it is, so I'll just say that is simply another example of the government using various and sundry excuses to infringe upon our rights, and if it can be stopped, it should be. Experience has indicated that it won't stop at sites that violate normal laws, and as I said, it's easy enough for a typo by a secretary to put an innocent person in the position of having to prove their innocence. Ok, rant over. I would, if I live in the US, make every effort, futile though it may be, to contact your local representative, and let them know you're paying attention. If enough people do so, then policitians may realize that if don't pay attention, they'll lose all that opportunity for lots of extra money, sex, and drugs. -- Scott Robbins PGP keyID EB3467D6 ( 1B48 077D 66F6 9DB0 FDC2 A409 FA54 EB34 67D6 ) gpg --keyserver pgp.mit.edu --recv-keys EB3467D6 Buffy: Do we really need weapons for this?
