I have Debian Lenny running on a 1 GHz Pentium 3 here. It works. As others have 
pointed out Redhat 6 is pretty old today and is no longer being supported.

As far as RAM goes that machine has 512MB and I think it is using about 3.2GB 
space on its hard disk.
