Unetbootin does not use grub because it does not *install* a distribution.
It just makes a usb equivalent of the Live CD or
DVD which does not affect grub either. You cannot add to the image or save
data unless you make it persistent. To actually install to usb then try a
site such as pendrivelinux.com. There are good isntructions for a variety of
distros from both Windows and Linux.
