Hi Sophie,

as far I know there already is a newer version of AntiX available, 13.1 see
here: http://antix.mepis.org/index.php?title=Main_Page

I use this distribution on an IBM Thinkpad T21 with a Pentium III mobile 1,1
Ghz and it runs acceptably well, except for internet browsing which just
gobbles up too much memory & CPU regardless of the browser used.

For older Pentiums this may not be the best choice, you may also want to have a
look at Tiny Core Linux (http://distro.ibiblio.org/tinycorelinux/) which is
really minimalist.

Quite frankly, do you really want to use such old hardware anymore? This is
questionable from an ecological standpoint already (not even mentioning the
patience you will have to afford while working with it), the hardware is so
inefficient by today's standards and uses comparatively much power that
employing a Pentium I or II in these days is contrary to the German
'Energiewende', energy turnaroud (clumy translation, I know)
:-)

Regards,

Pascal
