etherboot is up but I had to put an rtl8139 card in the box, as the current etherboot does not support 3c982 AFAIK.
But it is downloading a kernel and running it. Next I'll see if SMP works. The standard BIOS on the tyan guiness motherboards is so incredibly bad that it is a real pleasure to chuck it. Since I use a PCM-5823 as my burner, I have had no need to use the Guiness bios at all ... just build and burn on the geode, plug into the guiness. Anyway, I know some people wanted this, and Eric's excellent code only needed some minor rework, and we're there. Also the default behavior is to use TSC2 as the timer, and that is working well; also I am using my non-TIMER2 calibration loop and that is also working fine. TIMER2 is out of the picture. ron
