cmos.layout describes the settings you can make in LinuxBIOS via the
CMOS ram (256 byte NVRAM)
it's used in quite some places in the LinuxBIOS source. You can use a
utility like lxbios (lxbios.sf.net) to change cmos settings from Linux.
