OK, that's good so far. Now you'd need to verify that actually _writing_ a BIOS image works (or not) on the board. Have you done that? If not, please make sure you have a backup chip in case something goes wrong. You can try writing the vendor's BIOS (e.g. from the website) via flashrom, that should tell you if it works.
