We have an L440GX+ that we want to use exclusively as a Linux server. We
currently have just one Celeron processor. The amount of junk in the BIOS
is amazing, and the modem dialin feature makes me feel unhappy. So, I'd
like to consider using LinuxBIOS. I got freebios-20001123 from
sourceforge. I looked at the mail archives and saw Ron's posting that
Linuxbios and Freebios are not crossposted.

In README.TXT in this version of Freebios Ron says:

> Note that for the L440GX, the only way to burn NVRAM right now is via
> recovery boot. To make this go send me email.

Does this mean I'm supposed to send email to Ron asking him how to drive
the DOS program from Intel to flash a new image into NVRAM, or what? What
I'm hoping to find somewhere is:

   - a simple way of backing up the current NVRAM that has been tested
     with the L440GX+

   - an image that someone is already using with the L44GX+, and a source
tree that will build an identical image

   - a recipe for burning this into NVRAM, presumably using the Intel DOS
     program for doing so

What are my chances? :-)

Thanks
