I've been wanting to avoid this, but it looks like we'll have to have the LinuxBIOS mtrr code check the cpuid for cyrix. Damn. The reason is that people can jam cyrix OR PIII OR Celeron into that 370 socket, and the cyrix has problems. We can compile the linuxbios for only one cpu type (Intel, Cyrix, etc.) but this will probably cause trouble later. I'll have to see if we can leave the initial assembly as is, and just deal with the problem in mtrr.c ron
