can anybody tell me what happened in DoC land from last fall to now? I
have a bunch of DoC that were nftl_format and fdisk'ed last fall on
2.2.17. 

I can't read them at all on 2.4.3. I.e. I can't mount nftla1 and get at
the file system that's on there. 

Is there any way to recover them? 

Also, where does formatting/partition info live on these things? A simple
dd from one to another will copy 8M, but something is obviously missing,
as the partition info doesn't make it across.
