I have just been looking into buying
different size Disk on a chip and disk on a module(IDE Interface).
This is what I was qouted
DOC price: 32MB (US$54.-), 64MB (US$88.-),
96MB (US$122.-), 112MB (US$166), 144MB (US$195)
DOM price: 32MB (US$38.-), 64MB (US$72.-),
128MB (US$130.-)
not only is dom cheaper it is also a lot
faster. I guess they would say that.
DOM DOC
Data Transfer Rate 2101.5KB/sec 757.4KB/sec Average Seek Time 0.1m/sec 0.6m/sec Track-Track Seek Time 0.1/msec 0.7m/sec Buffer Read 1840KB/sec 752KB/sec Sequential Read 1840KB/sec 864KB/sec Random Read 1840KB/sec 800KB/sec PERFORMANCE INDEX 455.659 82.621 Seeing the problems that people are having fitting
DOC to their systems would it not be easier to have a small bootstrap loader
reprogrammed into the existing flash that got all its data from one of these DOM
devices, am I barking up the wrong tree? or has this already been
done.
Just a thought
