The 1MB parts need 32 bit sockets.
Most NICs have 28 pin sockets.

The first few board I checked all had 32 pin sockets, but are old
(3c905A/B) or obscure (SMC EtherPower II). The easiest one to find is
likely the D-Link DFE-550Tx using the "Alta Sundance" chip.
