Thanks .. good idea. It appears that most every one is using the compact flash to update to linux (originally QNX based system). My preference is to use the on board flash (using LinuxBIOS) or the other flash/eprom socket. Then use the DOC slot. ... but I may have to go this route in the long run. I prefer to have the whole development system via GNU (Linux) vs. QNX. I'm still looking into reprogramming the flash (insitu) with a LinuxBIOS. The on board flash is 16MByte. (Intel Flash E28F128). I suppose I could hand solder a socket for the flash (expensive). Already have ZIF sockets for the eprom and DOC ready to go. I think I have found the correct resistors to enable the eprom CE and disable the on board flash. I need to confirm this with a simple program in the eprom that outputs something either over RS232 or over the LCD.
