It looked like initially that Ron had signed an NDA that allowed him
to release code.  AMD seems to disagree.

The implicit rules vary from country to country.   I would assume
that there is an implicit copyright on the BIOS.  So you wouldn't
be able to republish another developers code, or republish code that
looked suspciously like someone elses code.   But I'm not a lawyer...

Award, Phoenix, AMI and the others all got their start through reverse
engineering, IBM's BIOS.  And their were court cases, etc.  So you can
go back into history and see what kind of procedures held up.

I would suggest if that for anyone interested in reverse engineering
they look at x86info.  http://freshmeat.net/projects/x86info/
