Hello from Gregg C Levine normally with Jedi Knight Computers
I have an odd question to ask. For the Linux Kernel version 2.4.2, what
patches within the file "kernel-patches-2.4.2.eb1.tar.g.z" are needed to
implement it, on the Intel platform? I have downloaded to my back up
system, a Pentium, running at about 100Mhz, the unpatched kernel
sources, at that release level. I have also built it, and now have a
running 2.4.2. kernel. But every time I try to apply the patches, I get
the usual array of error messages, about missing items. Do I need to
apply all of them, and use an option setting to disable error checking?
Or what? I've read the man pages for patch, and it has me confused. Was
something specific used by Richard A. Smith for his work, that was not
documented here? Please advise.
