Has anyone tried LinuxBIOS with Cyrix C3 CPUs? (Can't try myself since I have not yet located a socket370 board with a compatible chipset.) According to the docs on VIA's site, the C3 Samuel 2 is not usually compatible with a BIOS written for Intel CPUs.
The Cyrix C3 strikes me a perfect for network appliances, e.g., thin clients, because of its low cost and low power comsumption: 10 watts maximum at 800 Mhz, 6 watts typical. The performance is not stellar compared to similarly-clocked Intel or AMD CPUs, though. -- Henry House The attached file is a digital signature. See <http://romana.hajhouse.org/pgp> for information.
