Greetings, I've used the 7308ET successfully with LinuxBIOS and Doc. The only catch is that I needed to update the sis900 ethernet driver. Let me know if you need that. I'm out of the office now, but I can send it when I return later this week. Perhaps a new flash part is the problem?
