Hello Last weekend was the V Linuxchix Brazilian conference. I plan to write a proper note about it, but it was really nice, about 200 people, labs always packed with people, very enjoyable. But maybe the part we enjoy most is to hang out together with all other chix, cause we are quite distribute around the country, so we have few occasions to be all together.
We were all talking about the conference and the group, and them I realize one thing Linuxchix has and it is very special: we defaced the millenarian competition among women and became a sisterhood. We are not just a big international group, we have a lot of other groups hanging around here too. I know people who initiate and participate of other groups - like Debian Women, Ubuntu Women, any other? - also participate Linuxchix mailings lists, discussions and volunteer actions. Do you girls realize that this is very special in our FOSS world? I mean, do you see how similar projects usually don't get along neither are so supportive to each other as we are? I mean, there is eternal wars for KDExGNOME, FSFxOSI, Debian x Fedora x Ubuntu x ... , Linux x BSD... we are probably the most civilized FOSS similar projects. I really enjoy this. Thanks to you all! -- Brain: Prepare yourself for your 15 minutes of fame Pinky: after that, can I have 15 minutes of macarena? ------------------------------------------------------------- °v° Sulamita Garcia /(_)\ LinuxChix Brasil ^ ^ http://sulamita.linuxchix.org.br/ _______________________________________________ Linuxchix mailing list [email protected] http://listas.linuxchix.org.br/mailman/listinfo/linuxchix
