This is handled by the "linuxconf add-ons". When you define a add-on, you
tell how to start/stop/restart the service as well as other information
such as
-config file to monitor
-process and pid file
An add-on correspond to a file in /etc/linuxconf/control. This is called a
add-on since it is easy to drop the control file there and linuxconf takes
note. The service appears in the "Control service activity".
Note that on linuxconf-aware distro like redhat 5.1, the list of service
is built from the sysv init scripts. On other distro, the
list of service is builtin. Add-ons adds to this list in both cases.
