Depends on the distribution. On redhat 5.1, it stores it in /etc/sysconfig
like any other redhat tools. On other distribution, linuxconf stores it
partly in /etc/hosts, /etc/networks and /etc/conf.linuxconf.
If you have uninstalled linuxconf, the distribution private files should
be left the same way they were before linuxconf.
Linuxconf also configure /etc/conf.modules, as this is a standard file and
linuxconf uses standard location when they are available. Maybe you have
miss-configure your network adaptor type.
