For a PPP dialup system I just go in Linuxconf->Networking->Routing and
Gateways->Default Route and make sure there in no address there. Then PPP
will assign the default route when the link comes up. I have installed
dozens of linux systems via FTP using ethernet and specifing the default
route during installation, then after its set up going in to linuxconf and
removing the default route and set it up for dialout PPP. I have done this
with RedHat 4.2 thru 5.1 and linuxconf versions 1.10 - 1.13 and never had a
problem.
I also know that RedHat stores the default route in the file
/etc/sysconfig/network
>I upgraded my home machine from RH4.1/Linuxconf 1.10-?? to RH5.1 and
>Linuxconf 1.13-2. I can no longer log on automatically as I have to
