I'll assume that this is an NE2000 card (a real Novell or clone?) and it is the
second card in the machine (or not).  Using Linuxconf, it is very easy to just
go into Networking / Basic host information / and slide down to Adaptor 2
(unless this is the only card, then it's the first one).  Enable the interface,
check DHCP (I assume DHCP on a cable modem), go to Net Device and enter eth0
(first card) or eth1 (second card), Ctrl X on the Kernel module field and
choose "ne" as the device.  You should be ready.  "ifup eth0"

You'll have a problem if you have 2 NE2000 cards but that is fixable too.
