I updated my linuxconf to 1.13r9-1 and have been using it to set up dialup (with no luck). Then after some major changes I decided to restart the machine. When the machine started booting linuxconf came up in the middle of booting. I wasn't too concerned but after I told it to boot (both text & gui styles) I got alot of strange garbage on the machine. I had to hit the enter key continuously for it to boot. After I checked a few things to make sure that it wasn't just some settings that I might have made and a few reboots, I came to realize that it was indeed linuxconf. I removed it from my machine and now things are back to normal. In fact dialup now works as well.
