Robert, I had problems with LinuxConf choking on the example named.conf file that SUSE distributes. After I fixed that problem by renaming the named.conf file the system took about 10 minutes to boot up to a log on prompt. I gave up and removed LinuxConf until I have more time to determine what it is doing to cause the delays in start up.
