Stein,

Thanks very much for your quick response.

When performing lynx to http://ops-1.pluimers.demon.nl:98/html:/ I get the
following 401 error message:

                            Authorization Required

This server could not verify that you are authorized to access the
document you requested. Either you supplied the wrong credentials
(e.g., bad password), or your browser doesn't understand how to supply
   the credentials required.

This ends up in htmlaccess.log:

Jan 21 13:49:54 ops-1.pluimers.demon.nl File request:
help.eng/main/introweb.html
Jan 21 13:49:58 ops-1.pluimers.demon.nl Request:
Jan 21 13:50:10 ops-1.pluimers.demon.nl Request:

Although I get a 401-error, this does not appear in the htmlaccess log-file.

This is in /var/log/messages however:

Jan 21 13:50:10 ops-1 pam[3207]: unable to dlopen(/lib/security/pam_pwdb.so)
Jan 21 13:50:10 ops-1 pam[3207]: [dlerror: /lib/security/pam_pwdb.so:
undefined symbol: pam_get_item]
Jan 21 13:50:10 ops-1 pam[3207]: adding faulty module:
/lib/security/pam_pwdb.so

Does this cause the 401 error (I don't have shadow passwords installed, but
I tried a while ago without success).

This is configured so I can access it form both locally and my ISPs.
