If you are running Windows XP, try updating to Service Pack 3.  Also, it
must have something to do with outdated hardware or software.

Bug description:
Running Win xp, service pack 2 on a pentium 4 laptop.  With external WD hard 
drive USB connected.

I've gotten a screen shot of the event log showing the app crashing at 00000000 
memory.
