Razzloss proposed the following answer:
With Linux you rarely need to download some arbitrary packages with a
web browser. Just use your package manager to install linuxdcpp (I
believe it's "add/remove software" or something similar in gnome menus).
If you want the latest development version add the PPA to your package
sources as described in https://launchpad.net/~linuxdcpp-
team/+archive/ppa . And then update/install via the same package manager
as you would install other Ubuntu packages.
