Deepak ... okay to list. The app list I will be doing is a superset for
reference purposes. It is intended as an answer to "I need (blah-blah)
to do my work / hobby and it is only available in Winxx" Since Microsoft
has such market penetration on the desktop, I will also be trying to do
an "equivalency" field ... ie: what MSFT program a Linux program is
comparable to.

Has anyone seen a mapping application such as DeLorme's "Road Atlas"?
Also I am looking for a GPS program for Linux.

The idea for the database sounds good. Perhaps Eugene & I can hash out
fields in the next day or so? It only sounds like a half dozen or so
with total record length of perhaps 300 bytes, max. I have NO clue as to
final database size ... I have barely begun and have perhaps 300 links
:)

I knew Linux was well-supported ... but man o man ... LOTS of folks are
on this bandwagon! Yippee!
